I am grateful to Allah, who has sent us as a Muslims, Alhamdulillah. Then I send innumerable blessings and greetings to the greatest and last Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Then I am giving special thanks to Honorable founder and founding vice-chancellor of the country's largest and famous private university, Asian University of Bangladesh, Prof. Dr. Abul Hasan Muhammad Sadeq. He ensured his higher position abroad and came to the country and established this university with the aim of enhancing the morally advanced, physically healthy and professionally sound human resources. Where since its inception there has been an opportunity to acquire BA Honors and MA degrees in Islamic Studies among other subjects. Islam is the name of a complete way of life. Therefore, its followers should gain a deep knowledge of the precepts of Islam at all levels of life and the vision of Islam to face the challenges of the modern age and try to implement it in an individual life and the society. The Department of Islamic Studies of Asian University of Bangladesh is always active to help the Muslim nation in this work.
The syllabus of the Department of Islamic Studies (AUB) is advanced and up-to-date. It is independent from the syllabus of any university in Bangladesh which makes a student a true scholar. There are 48 courses under the Honors programme. Most of them are related to the Islamic way of life and its main source is the Qur'an-Sunnah. Also, there are 15 Interdisciplinary courses for gaining knowledge on Bangla, English, contemporary social system, finance, international affairs, history, tradition, literature, culture and research.
We want every member of the nation to be educated in this education which is necessary for them. May they be able to get the welfare of the world and the hereafter. Age or anything else should not be a barrier for this. We want any person to be able to connect easily with us and fulfill this great desire.
In addition, securing a degree in this discipline will create unlimited opportunities for obtaining Ph.D and participating in BCS. Job opportunities will be created in public and private institutions, including schools, colleges, universities, madrassas, Islamic foundations, Islamic banks and education boards of the country. BA (Hons.) and MA degrees in Islamic Studies are considered as special qualifications for jobs in N.G.O., Academies and Libraries etc.
