Rabiul Karim (Mridul) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Asian University of Bangladesh. He holds MSc and BSc in Economics from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh. His current research areas include sustainable development, development economics, political economy, and economics of globalization. 

As an empirical researcher, besides working on core economic issues, Rabiul Karim also writes economic articles on national dailies. At the Department of Economics of Asian University of Bangladesh, Rabiul Karim teaches Graduate and Post Graduate Level courses including Health economics, Political economy of globalization, and Development economics among others. Besides teaching economics, he is a prominent writer in Bengali literature. He has published 11 books including Novels and short stories so far. Khalid: Blood.War.Honor, Ekhane Akash Nil, Jalpai Ronger Coat, Ghaani, Foolan, Hatyar Shilpakala are particularly notable among his acclaimed books. He is also an Editorial member of ATSK journal of Economics, Pakistan and Executive editor of thelitnews.com. 

Prior to joining at Asian University of Bangladesh he worked as a Business journalist in a national daily and as a copy and creative writer in a reputed advertising agency. Apart from being a lecturer, he is now working as an assistant proctor at Asian University of Bangladesh.
