Abstract
Ethics in public administration is a crucial factor for ensuring good governance, transparency, and accountability within the state machinery. In the context of Bangladesh, the application of ethical standards faces various challenges including bureaucratic red-tapism, political influence, and systemic corruption. This research explores the ethical framework governing public officials in Bangladesh, examining the existing legal provisions and the gap between policy and practice. It highlights the importance of moral integrity and professional codes of conduct in delivering public services efficiently. By analyzing the socio-political landscape, the paper suggests strategic reforms to institutionalize ethics in the public sector, aiming to restore public trust and enhance the overall quality of administration in Bangladesh.
