Abstract
This research presents a longitudinal analysis of the natural gas consumption patterns in Bangladesh spanning three decades. Natural gas is the primary energy source for the country, fueling critical sectors such as power generation, fertilizer production, industrial operations, and domestic households. Dr. Mst. Tasqurun Nessa explores the shift in demand and supply dynamics, highlighting how the industrial and power sectors have increasingly dominated consumption compared to other areas. The study evaluates the impact of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) in the transport sector and the role of Residue Natural Gas (RNG) in the broader energy matrix. Through empirical data, the paper identifies the growing gap between demand and indigenous supply, stressing the necessity for diversified energy sources and more efficient consumption strategies. The findings provide a comprehensive overview of how energy utilization has evolved alongside Bangladesh's economic growth, offering vital insights for policymakers to manage future energy security and sustainable development goals.
