This research, presented at the International Conference on the Role of Science and Technology towards 4IR at Rajshahi University, explores the transformative potential of Game-Based Learning (GBL) in modernizing STEM education. Professor Dr. Shireen Akhter and Ridwan Ul Islam Mahdi analyze how the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) demands a new set of competencies, including complex problem-solving, digital literacy, and adaptive thinking. The study argues that traditional teaching methodologies often fall short in engaging students with the high-level cognitive demands of 4IR. By integrating GBL into STEM curricula, educators can create immersive, interactive environments that foster intrinsic motivation and practical skill application. The authors provide a conceptual framework for implementing educational games that simulate real-world scientific and technical challenges. Findings suggest that GBL not only enhances student engagement but also bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and the technical expertise required in the 4IR era. This research contributes significantly to the discourse on educational reform in Bangladesh, advocating for technology-driven pedagogical shifts to prepare the future workforce for a rapidly evolving global economy.
