Management Philosophy

In this extensive 33-page chapter, Professor Dr. Abul Hasan M. Sadeq transitions from macroeconomic theory to micro-level organizational excellence. He argues that while secular Total Quality Management (TQM) focuses on customer satisfaction and efficiency, Quality Management in the Islamic Framework adds a transcendental dimension of accountability to the Creator.

The core of Professor Sadeq's thesis rests on three pillars:
  • Ihsan (Excellence/Perfection): The spiritual drive to perform every task as if one is seeing God, leading to unparalleled attention to detail.
  • Itqan (Precision/Thoroughness): The professional obligation to produce work of the highest possible standard, as ordained by the Prophetic tradition.
  • Amanah (Trustworthiness/Accountability): Viewing quality as a moral trust between the producer, the consumer, and society.
Professor Sadeq contends that an Islamic organization achieves superior quality not just through inspection or metrics, but through the internal moral policing of its employees. He demonstrates that by fostering a culture of Adl (Justice) in treatment and Shura (Consultation) in decision-making, organizations can achieve a sustainable "Quality Culture" that fulfills both material goals and spiritual obligations. This work remains a foundational text for the "Islamic Perspectives on Management" movement.
