Comparative Management Analysis

In this significant chapter, Professor Dr. Abul Hasan M. Sadeq presents a comparative analysis between conventional Human Resource Management (HRM) and the Islamic ethical paradigm. He argues that while mainstream HRM views employees as "resources" to be optimized for productivity, the Islamic framework treats them as human beings with dignity, rights, and spiritual potential.

Professor Sadeq outlines several core ethical components:
  • Amanah (Trust): The employer-employee relationship is viewed as a divine trust. Selection and promotion must be based on merit (Kifayah) and integrity.
  • Adl (Justice): Ensuring fair wages, reasonable workloads, and non-discriminatory treatment, rooted in the Prophetic command to pay the worker before their sweat dries.
  • Ihsan (Excellence/Benevolence): Encouraging a work culture where individuals strive for perfection out of a sense of God-consciousness (Taqwa) rather than mere supervision.
  • Mutual Consultation (Shura): Incorporating participatory management where employees are involved in decision-making processes.
The research concludes that integrating these Islamic ethics into modern management leads to higher organizational loyalty, reduced conflict, and a more sustainable "Human" approach to development. This work remains a key reference for ethical leadership studies worldwide.
