Abstract
The socio-economic development of a developing country like Bangladesh and its public interest largely depends on industrial growth that has an importance on the sound development of energy infrastructure as well, such as the availability of power resources like gas and electricity. This study investigates the impact of energy price hike on consumers (individual and industrial) in Bangladesh. Purposively we attempt to examine the relationship between dependent variables DPI, CPI & CS and independent variables (price change of fuel natural gas and Electricity). Findings show consumers’ capacity to pay has been affected due to increase in energy price hike in both family and industrial productive sector uses.
