Abstract
At the present time, women empowerment is an important issue in all over the world. United nation was included and focused women empowerment issue in its millennium and sustainable development goals. To empower the women, Bangladesh government and non-government organizations are working together. Bangladesh has taken some initiatives to empower the women such as, to increase the rate of women education, encourage involvement in employment, politics, and businesses. Currently, women are playing important roles in the economic development of Bangladesh. This study is an attempt to identify the economic aspects of Bangladesh that are influenced by women empowerment. The findings of this study inspire to encourage further women empowerment of Bangladesh. Primary data was used to conduct this study. Survey and interview techniques were used for data collection. Both descriptive and inferential statistics were used in data analysis. Descriptive statistics were used to explain details about the women empowerment as well as inferential statistics were used to identify the affected economic aspects and show the significant relationship between women empowerment and identified economic aspects of Bangladesh. Factor analysis was used to identify the factors that are influenced by women empowerment. Multivariate analysis of variance was used to show that the overall and individual significant effect of women empowerment on identified economic factors. Findings of this study show that there are five economic factors of Bangladesh which are significantly influenced through women empowerment. The identified factors are Increased agricultural and industrial production as well as export earning and remittance, Decreased unemployment and poverty rate as well as ensure preservation and expanded market, Enhanced personal income, women entrepreneur and standard of living, Promoted women investor, foreign aid raised women participation in production, and Assured women participation in employment played an important role on sustainable development. In this study multivariate analysis of variance demonstrates that the identified economic aspects are significantly influenced by the women empowerment. Our research recommends that if it could be enhanced women empowerment, then it will be ensured overall economic development in Bangladesh.
