Md. Mijanur Rahman Bhuiyan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at the Asian University of Bangladesh (AUB).
Joining as a lecturer in January 2014, he has been serving AUB for more than 8 years with dedication. His sincerity, hard work and academic excellence promoted him to Assistant Professor in the same department. Based on his academic records and expertise, he teaches ELT-based courses, especially Sociolinguistics, Language Testing and Evaluation, Stylistics, Syllabus Design and Curriculum Development, Teaching Techniques, Discourse Analysis, and Advanced Grammar etc. Apart from teaching, he is also a trainer of public speaking, presentation skills and teaching techniques. He has an extensive experience on conducting numerous workshop and seminars on those areas. He has a sound educational background. After completing his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at AUB, he successfully pursued his second master’s in English Language Teaching (ELT) from Jahangirnagar University. He also achieved the Vice-Chancellor’s Gold Medal Award in the Sixth Convocation of AUB - a reflection of his excellent academic attainment. Administrative capacity is another aspect of his career where he excels in a similar fashion. Right now, he is working as the Additional Director of the Institutional Quality Assurance Division at AUB. He also worked as the Deputy Director of Student Affairs in the past.

His research interests include different subfields of ELT like Sociolinguistics, Syllabus Design, Assessment and Evaluation, and Backwash Effect. His research publication includes wide-ranging topics in ELT. He is an Assistant Editor of “Journal of ELT and Education”. Right now, he is involved in a research project on learning vocabulary through social media.
