MD. Tazul Islam holding both a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and a Master of Arts from the Department of Bangla at Jahangirnagar University, Dhaka, he is currently pursuing his Ph.D. focusing his research on the distinguished Bengali author, Premendra Mitra.
His academic interests lie primarily in Bengali fiction, with a particular emphasis on short stories and novels. He has presented his scholarly work at various research institutions and actively participated in numerous research seminars. Throughout his academic and professional journey, he has consistently demonstrated exceptional creativity and organizational prowess through his involvement with several organizations.
As a proactive organizer, he was elected General Secretary (G.S) of Bangla Sangsad (the Student's Council of the Bangla Department at Jahangirnagar University) and served as an Associate Editor for 'Cirkut' (A quarterly literary magazine published by the Jahangirnagar University. His editorial experience further extends to various magazines, textbooks, publications, and journals. Additionally, he was the founding Treasurer of the Bangabandhu Hall Debating Club at Jahangirnagar University.
Culturally engaged, he was a founding member of Bangla Theatre and a general member of both Jahangirnagar Theatre and the Jahangirnagar University Debate Organization (JUDO). His artistic contributions include numerous stage performances involving songs, recitations, and dramas at Jahangirnagar University and other esteemed institutions. He possesses remarkable abilities in debate, games, recitation, and extempore speech.
Furthermore, he has undergone extensive paramilitary training with the Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC) and previously held the position of Cadet Sergeant within the BNCC's Jahangirnagar University platoons, under the Ramna Regiments.
Currently, he is serving as a Lecturer in the Department of Bangla at Asian University of Bangladesh, located in Ashulia, Dhaka.
