Mr Md. Mahmudul Hasan joined the Department of Information Science and Library Management at the Asian University of Bangladesh as a faculty member in February 2022. He is a Bangladeshi academic and researcher with a multidisciplinary educational background encompassing Information Science and Library Management, Education, Applied Psychology, Applied Counselling, and Cultural Studies.
Mr Hasan earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Dhaka. He later completed a Master of Social Science (MSS) and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from the Asian University of Bangladesh. To further strengthen his interdisciplinary expertise, he obtained a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Applied Psychology from Western State University, California, USA, as well as a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and a Professional Certification in Applied Counselling from the Skill Development Council, Canada.
His research focuses on the intersection of education, libraries, and information management, with particular emphasis on advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). His work primarily contributes to SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
Mr Hasan's academic interests include educational innovation, library development, information management, psychology, counselling, adult education, community learning, and cultural studies. Through his interdisciplinary research and academic engagement, he seeks to disseminate knowledge, support evidence-based policymaking, and advance inclusive and sustainable educational practices both nationally and internationally.
