Mohsena Akter is a Lecturer in the Department of Islamic History and Civilization at the Asian University of Bangladesh, Dhaka. She holds a B.A. (Hons) and M.A. in Islamic History and Culture from Jagannath University, Dhaka, where she is currently pursuing her MPhil.

Her research interests focus on the Bangladesh Liberation War, women and gender in South Asian history, and the formation of Muslim anti-colonial identity in colonial Bengal, with particular attention to pro-Ottoman sentiment and Muslim nationalist thought.

She has presented her research at the 3rd AUBIC-2026 International Conference on Higher Education and Sustainable Development. She recently published her journal article titled “Qualitative Insights into Teacher Professional Development and Classroom Practices in Bangladeshi Primary Schools” in the International Journal of Research and Innovation in Social Science (IJRISS) (April 2026).
