Md. Iqramul Haque (Reon) is a Lecturer in the Department of Government and Politics at Asian University of Bangladesh. He holds an MSS (Thesis) and a BSS (Hon’s) in Government and Politics from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh. During his academic journey, he secured Merit Position as the 2nd in his MSS program and 3rd in his BSS program, demonstrating consistent excellence and commitment to his field of study. His current research areas include South Asian political systems, governance, digital media in politics, youths in politics, electoral violence, and democratic participation.

As an empirical researcher, Mr. Haque has worked extensively on political participation and governance in South Asia. His research projects have involved collaboration with prominent international organizations, including the International Republican Institute (IRI), the Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD), US Department of States, EMK Centre, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (TUFS) and Plan International. He has contributed to research on issues like electoral violence, the commercialization of politics, and the role of digital media in shaping parliamentary discourse.

At the Department of Government and Politics at Asian University of Bangladesh, Mr. Haque teaches both Graduate and Post-graduate level courses, including Political Science, Comparative Politics, Local Government and Governance, South Asian Politics, and Digital Media in Politics. He is deeply committed to developing critical thinking, research, and analytical skills among students, encouraging them to engage with current political issues both in theory and practice.

Mr. Haque has also contributed to several publications. His MSS thesis, titled “Use of Digital Media by National Parliaments in South Asia: The Case of Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan”, explores how digital media is transforming political participation and parliamentary communication in South Asia. He co-authored “The Cost of Politics in Bangladesh” published in 2025 by the Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD), which investigates the financial and political challenges of parliamentary politics in Bangladesh. This research is widely referenced in discussions on the intersection of politics and economic interests in the country.

He was also an active debater at the Jahangirnagar University Debate Organization and a cricketer in the Government and Politics Cricket Team.
