Department of Economics founded in September 2004 with a MSS in Economics program. The BSS program started its journey in May 2008. The department gives you the opportunity to be a human resource. Our ‘student-oriented’ education is waiting to offer you an open door learning approach, continuous academic consultancy services, and opportunity to improve their interests through student clubs, major and minor study in many departments.

The department of Economics offers both undergraduate and Master’s programs under the Faculty of Social Sciences. For the past one and half decades, the Department of Economics has made a valuable contribution to the development of higher education in Bangladesh. This department has provided high quality education to enable students to compete in the challenges of the twenty-first century.

The curriculum of the Economics department has been designed in accordance with different renowned universities around the world so that the students get exposure to Finance, Marketing, Banking, and other related fields in order to handle the multi-disciplinary challenges of the real world.
